NANA ABELL’S BEER BALLS Ingredients: 3 lbs fresh roll breakfast sausage 1 bottle (12 oz) jar Heinz Chili Sauce 1 lb brown sugar (light or dark, but do not use granulated) 1 can (12 oz) of beer
Combine the Chili sauce, Beer, and brown sugar in a large saucepan and simmer over low heat. Form bite-sized balls with the sausage and bake (or fry) until browned. Drain off excess grease and add the cooked sausage balls to the chili sauce mixture. Simmer slowly for about one hour. Serve in a chafing dish with toothpicks as an hors d’oeuvre or appetizer.
Hint: Don’t use flavored sausage such as maple, but you can use hot or mild.
